Deputy care manager

Pentree Lodge is a residential care home for 15 individuals with complex mental health needs. Based in beautiful Newquay, we are situated close to Fistral Beach and within walking distance of the town. We are looking for a deputy manager with an interest in mental health and a passion for care to join our team.

This role is 30 hours per week across 3 days. This will be a combination of office-based and care shifts.

The role:

You will support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and help lead the team, ensuring that everyone is delivering the highest standards of care possible. You will be passionate about care and committed to improving the home and the care we provide.

Ensure that the facility is maintaining a safe environment for residents, staff, and family.

Provide cover for the Manager in their absence.

Ensuring the service is compliant with legislation and regulatory requirements

Provide leadership and support for the care team and act as a champion for residents’ wellbeing and dignity.

Ensure that clear and accurate records are maintained

Qualifications, skills and experience:

Experience of working within mental health or residential care services

Qualification in Health and Social care and/or Leadership and Management

Knowledge of CQC regulations

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Organised and able to plan their own work schedule

Basic computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Word and access our online care planning software and training

The ability to work as part of a team

Individuals with a full driving license and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Salary: From £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Education:

GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

care or mental health: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Driving Licence (preferred)
