Job Description
We’re PCAS Kent, a provider of bespoke support packages for people with learning differences, autism, and mental health needs. We focus on ability not disability and strive to maintain and improve independence through our person-centred approach to support working. Our main priority for this job role is to find people with the right values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own! We’re seeking to recruit some great new support workers; people with the right values and behaviours to work for our company – could this be you?
The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. Every day is different and challenging in a positive way. The people we support are individuals, and they all deserve to be treated as such. However, as a general guide, duties may include:
Accessing the local community - accompanying them to go shopping, pop out for some lunch, or even a day out at a theme park!
Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together
Meal preparations – helping to prepare and cook fresh meals
Household chores – help around the home, such as vacuuming and washing clothes
Running errands – assisting with tasks such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions
Personal Care – cleaning, showering, and assisting with toileting, helping with medications.
We’re invested in our staff and want to support you as much as possible therefore we encourage all our staff to complete a diploma in health and social care upon completion of your 6-month probation. Our training courses are face to face in our office to help develop you in any areas you may need. We’re also proud to be part of the Real Living Wage Foundation. We also have a staff forum so your opinions and suggestions can be heard.
Due to the nature of the position working with vulnerable people an enhanced DBS is required, this is provided by the company.
