A.Berry Support services is looking for an outstanding activities coordinator to join our rapidly growing family run company. We require an enthusiastic, reliable individual to join our team at a brand new Day Service opening in March in the local area.
A.Berry Support Services offers a wide range of services. We have 4 residential rooms supporting 2 permanent stay residents and offer 2 regular short stay bedrooms. Within our home we also run a small day service provision 6 days a week Monday – Saturday. We encourage friendships through social activities and group activities, to suit the needs of the individuals we are supporting.
The job will be primarily at the new Day Service with possible overtime at the residential care home and the smaller Day Support Service at Berrybrook. The job role will be to support our service users to promote their independence with life skills, cooking, making friendships, and widening their experiences in the community setting, whilst having fun! You will develop, plan and implement and oversee activities, outings and events for the people we support. Provide fun & constructive leisure time and support our service users to achieve their desired goals. You will have experience in person centred care, positive behaviour support and be a good role model to our young adults. Be organised and an effective communicator with a warm personality.
Essential criteria
Starting wage £10.50 per hour – holiday entitlement and pension provided.
A.Berry Support services acts as both a support service and residential and applicants may be required to support in both.
The successful candidate will be offered a fully funded apprenticeship level 2/3 in health and social care.
Supporting day services activities and community visits
40 hours per week 5x 8 hour days per week 8.30am-4.30pm - with possible overtime ( New day centre job role - Care home hours may differ)
