Our Care/Support Workers
All of our Care/Support Workers go through rigorous interviews and selection procedures. All staff are DBS checked and are not given any assignments until this has been completed. Two references are collected and contacted for each employee this again is prior to employment.
Once the above is completed our Care/Support Workers receive induction training from our in house training manager which meets the Care Certificate standards. They then go on to receive in house moving & handling training which is a mandatory requirement. We have an extensive training programme and all our care/support workers are expected to attend a minimum of nine training modules annually. Yearly updates are also carried out for mandatory requirements. All staff are expected to enrol for NVQ/QCF level 2 within 6 months of employment. We also offer specialist training including PEG feeding, MS, Epilepsy, Dementia, Parkinson's disease, and service user specific training as and when required.
All our workers and employees are regularly monitored through our extensive quality assurance procedures; these include spot checks whilst working at the clients' home, supervision and appraisals, staff meetings and quality assurance feedback from our clients and their families.
