Lewin House, Aylesbury
Maybe you’re already working in a care home environment as a Cook or a Chef. Perhaps you’ve got a catering background and are looking to take on a part-time role that fits in with your other commitments. You might even have gained a catering qualification a while ago and just enjoy cooking for others whenever you get the opportunity. Whatever your background to date, if you’re looking for a role where you can make the most of your cooking and catering skills, The Fremantle Trust could have just the job for you.
Established since 1992, we’re an award winning charity and not-for-profit organisation that provides first class care and support for older people and adults with learning disabilities. Today, we have 1,800 staff supporting over 2,000 residents at 58 services across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Milton Keynes and North London. And, right now, we’re looking for a Relief Cook to join the team at Lewin House in Aylesbury.
Lewin House caters for people requiring high levels of both nursing care as well as specialist care in dementia. And, we want you to help us by preparing, cooking and serving high quality meals in line with the dietary needs of those who use our service. You could find yourself preparing breakfast and/or lunch, cooking cakes for afternoon tea or putting away deliveries and helping out with the cleaning and washing up. Supervising support staff, assisting with the ordering of food and supplies and generally making sure the service is safe and hygienic and runs smoothly – all are aspects of this rewarding role.
This is a great chance to put your cooking skills to use in an environment where they will really be appreciated and complemented; you’ll need to bring a solid catering background. And, if you have a relevant Food and Hygiene qualification, even better! Calm, patient and easy-going, you’re flexible too. What’s more you’re willing to turn your hand to new things and never get frustrated. Instead, you take pride in your food preparation and presentation skills and always deliver on time with a smile on your face.
If that sounds like the kind of good news you’re looking for, why not get in touch? You can find out more by calling 0333 400 1020.
