Salary £9.78 per hour. £19,071 pa + Weekend Rate Enhancement of + £1 per hour

Shift work according to rota.  37.5 hours per week


The Disabilities Trust provides an imaginative concept of personal care and specialist housing for people with severe physical disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury.  We are a highly respected national charity, providing modern, purpose-built accommodation and a full variety of support facilities for adults with a wide range of disabilities and special needs.


You will be leading and managing a team of Support Workers who will be supporting service users with autistic spectrum conditions and learning disabilities, appropriate to their individual cultural and social needs, to ensure they lead a full and valued life.  Ensuring that on a day to day basis staff on shift  demonstrate appropriate values in identifying and meeting the individual needs of service users and consistently provide a high quality, person centred service, adhering at all times to the Disabilities Trust’s Policies and Procedures.


Also to contribute to the overall management of the service by  supporting  the Service Manager and Assistant Managers in the day to day running of the unit, including health and safety, CQC requirements, HR, rotas and communication and ensuring that the Service Manager is made aware of untoward events.  Provide a positive role model and consistent approach to supervision and coaching of Support Workers to enable them to develop the skills and attitudes to consistently perform their duties to the highest standards. To communicate effectively with staff at all levels, Service Users, families and other professionals.   To promote a positive and professional impression of the service at all times.


If you are a team player with good communication skills, flexible in your approach and are able to work under pressure, we would like to hear from you.  A driving licence and previous experience of working with people who have autism/learning disabilities would be desirable.  We offer full mandatory training.


You must have completed your NVQ2 and NVQ3, but you can apply with just your NVQ2 but must be willing to take your NVQ3.
